Awards will be made for the best in the category and for the runner-up with the following evaluation criteria:

• Significant extension of technology or its application

• Overcoming a priori high risks of failure

• Demonstrating novelty of design or approach

• Removing barriers to or advancing the readiness for product commercialization or process commercialization
